What Will Be The Impact Of Electronic Cigarettes?

{ Posted on Nov 29 2009 by Smokeless Cigarette Guide }

Just this year they are coming out with electronic cigarettes that look like cigarettes and give a dose of nicotene without the smoke or smell. Will many smokers use these and will it help reduce the 400,000 smoking related deaths every year in the US?

  1. The electronic cigarette is going to be huge. It has been wildly successful in other countries for years. It is different than a real cigarette, but can definitely be a good option for smokers.
From personal experience, I can say that smokers love these things and they are flying off of the shelves. They are not for quitting smoking. They are a smoking alternative. For those who wish to change their habits, this is definitely the alternative.
If you compare what is in an electronic cigarette to what is in a tobacco cigarette, you will find that they appear to better for the smoker and for those around the smoker. The vapor allows the smoker to inhale and exhale just as you would a real cigarette, without the harmful second hand smoke. The vapor is water based so it dissipates upon exhalation.
The problems that will arise from these going mainstream will be the tobacco companies and the pharmaceutical companies losing out on profit and as we all know, they just can’t have that now can they?

  2. People don’t understand, they are not an alternative to regular cigarettes, they are intended to be used in the quiting process for those people who need something in the mouth while quiting. This dosent mean they will be for sale for the public to smoke as they will, they will be docter recommended and at a drug store with the patches and gum.

  3. Funny, I answered a question about this earlier today. I have tried electronic cigarettes before and so have my friends. It’s simply not the same. In fact, they taste gross and are unsatisfying. I think most smokers will not change unless they are trying to cut down. I just don’t think they’ll be very popular.

  4. They work well and are getting better. Seems to me they should abolish regular cigarettes and sell these instead. That would slash deaths due to lung problems and cancer.

  5. lol, thats soo funny!
although nicotine is still bad for you there will be alot less deaths i think, but u never know if ppl will buy them or not.

  6. sounds like some people are gonna find a way to put crak and other drugs in them
stuff never gets used for its correct purpose

  7. I hate smoke, this would go perfect with Casinos!!!!

  8. IDK

  9. I would use them :)

  10. woahh!
    i’d imagine less lung cancer?

  11. No smoke? Thats no fun =(

  12. Even though it is not tobacco smoke – with electronic cigarettes you do breath in water vapor and exhale water vapor smoke like a humidifier does

  13. With less than 4000 chemicals being breathed in I would have to agree with you.

  14. .., if e-cigarette can help me stop my smoking habit little by little I would definitely go for it… hope its less dangerous than the actual cigarettes…

  15. I have been using both Luci and smokestik for 6 weeks now and can honestly say I don’t crave regular cigarettes anymore even when drinking. As far as how dangerous, watch the video to the right, same question came up. All I can say is vapor smoke is alot less dangerous than tar/carcinogens.

  16. I really have to agree with the validity of this post. Great work!
